The Toshiba MKxx17GSG series of 1.8-inch hard disk drives feature 160 and 80GB storage capacities in small and durable models weighing 62 and 60 grams, respectively. The storage capacities offered by the MKxx17GSG series mirror those of larger form factor hard drives, while reducing the storage footprint by close to 40 percent, making them ideal for sub-notebook and rugged PCs, pocket-able external storage devices, printers, copies and other space-conscious applications.

The 5400 RPM, MKxx17GSG drives are equipped with a Serial ATA interface which bursts data to the host computer at data transfer rates up to 1.5 Gigabits per second. Rugged and ultra-durable, the MKxx17GSG drives are built upon a platform field-proven for quality and reliability.

*One Gigabyte (1 GB) means 10⁹ = 1,000,000,000 bytes using powers of 10. A computer operating system, however, reports storage capacity using powers of 2 for the definition of 1 GB = 2³⁰ = 1,073,741,824 bytes, and therefore shows less storage capacity. Available storage capacity will also be less if the computer includes one or more pre-installed operating systems, pre-installed software applications, or media content.
